AIR AMERICA is an IFR, On-demand CFR Part 135 single pilot Airline. Our customers are primarily US passengers connecting through our home base, Luis Munoz International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU) that continues onto other islands in the Caribbean with us. A majority of our trips range from 25 to 75 minute legs.  Occasionally we do go further.  We currently operate Piper Aztec’s, C-421 and a Britten Norman Islander.

We also provide air service to Islands that have short runways and gusty wind conditions most of the time.  They include the Islands of: Culebra, St. Barths, and Virgin Gorda. Each island requires a separate pilot check out.  These are just two examples:

Most of our flights are international, requiring the pilot to prepare required documents and follow international procedures.

Requirements:

  • FAA pilot license with a Commercial or ATP multy engine rating with IFR privileges.
  • Minimum total time 1200 hours.
  • Minimum multy engine 200 hours.
  • Able to relocate to San Juan P.R. at own cost.
  • Willing and able to sign a 1-year contract.
  • Under the age of 60 years old. (This is an ICAO, single pilot requirement).
  • Possess a U.S. passport or green card.
